Stripe is how a lot of businesses take card payments on their own storefront, and it pays out in batches rather than order by order. SmartB is the layer that decomposes those batches — matching each deposit to the orders behind it, with fees and refunds landing where they belong.
Stripe pays out in batches, net of fees, covering a run of trading rather than a single sale. The figure that reaches your bank matches no one order, no one invoice and no one line in your accounts — so somebody opens the settlement report and works backwards by hand. Add refunds, chargebacks and a second currency and it stops being a five-minute job. SmartB treats that deposit as something to be decomposed, not accepted.
What SmartB does
Settlement and payout data comes into SmartB and is matched against the orders it actually paid for — the same reconciliation job that marketplace payouts need.
Processing charges, refunds and chargebacks are part of what a sale really earned, so SmartB carries them onto the order rather than dumping them in a single expense line.
If you sell across borders, the amount charged, the amount settled and the amount banked are three different figures. SmartB keeps them straight instead of leaving finance to reconcile them twice.
Your own storefront is rarely the only place you sell. Stripe orders sit with your marketplace and outlet orders, so stock, fulfilment and reporting run off one record.
When the payout has already been decomposed, closing the month is a review rather than an investigation — and the e-invoice for each sale is issued from the same system.
Today you run the operations behind your Stripe payments in SmartB — bringing settlement and order data in and reconciling, invoicing and reporting in one place. Automatic sync with Stripe is on our roadmap, so payouts and their underlying transactions arrive without a manual step.

That a payout is broken back into the individual orders, fees and refunds that make it up, so each bank line can be explained by the sales behind it rather than accepted as a lump sum.
We design towards roughly 98% auto-matching rather than 100% — a deliberate target, not a measured result, because payment platforms keep producing new cases. The remainder is queued for a person to decide, with the evidence attached.
No. SmartB keeps the charged, settled and banked amounts separate so cross-border sales report alongside domestic ones without a second set of workings.
