Writing good prompts for the AI builder

You do not need special words to talk to SmartB Studio. But a little structure helps the AI understand exactly what you want the first time.

The simple formula

Describe three things:

1. What you want to build (a module, a form, a report).
2. The fields it should have.
3. The rules — anything that should happen automatically.

Here is the same request, weak and strong:

Weak: "make a leave system"

Strong: "Build a leave request module. Each request has employee name, leave type, start date, end date and reason. Route it to the employee's manager for approval."

The strong version gives the AI everything it needs, so you get a working module straight away.

Tips that make a big difference

• Use plain, everyday language. You do not have to sound technical. "When the amount is more than 5,000, send it to finance" works perfectly.
• List your statuses. If a record moves through stages, name them: New, In progress, Done.
• Say who does what. Mention roles like "manager", "finance" or "admin" so approvals route correctly.
• Build in small steps. Start with the core, then add features one request at a time.

Improving what you built

You are never locked in. Just describe the change:

Add a column for department, and show a monthly summary by department.

The AI adjusts the module without you rebuilding anything.
