Why your Shopee payout never matches your sales
When a customer pays RM50 for your product, you don't receive RM50. Shopee deducts its fees first, and only the remainder — your net payout — reaches your bank. Understanding those deductions is the whole game, because your real profit lives in the gap.
- Commission fee — a percentage Shopee takes on each sale.
- Transaction fee — charged on the payment processed.
- Service fee — for programmes like Free Shipping and campaigns.
- Ads, vouchers & coins — promotions you fund to win the sale.
- Returns & adjustments — refunds and corrections netted off later.
Do this once and it's simple arithmetic. Do it for every order, every payout batch, every month — across campaigns and returns that land in different periods — and it becomes hours of spreadsheet work where mistakes hide. That's the job SmartB automates.
Questions, answered
Shopee profit & fees FAQ
Why doesn’t my Shopee payout match my sales?
Because Shopee deducts several fees before it pays you — typically a commission fee, a transaction fee and a service fee, plus any campaign or ad costs, voucher and coin subsidies you fund, and shipping adjustments. Returns and refunds are also netted off. The amount that lands in your bank is your gross sales minus all of these, which is why the payout is always lower than the order value. This calculator lets you enter each fee to see the real number.
How do I calculate my true profit on Shopee?
Start with your selling price (gross sales), subtract every Shopee fee to get your net payout, then subtract your cost of goods (COGS). What remains is your true profit; dividing it by your selling price gives your margin. The calculator does this for you per order and scales it to a month based on your order volume.
What are the typical fees Shopee charges sellers?
Shopee generally charges a commission fee, a transaction fee and a service fee, and sellers may also fund campaign, ad, voucher and free-shipping costs. The exact percentages vary by marketplace, seller programme and product category, and they change over time — so always confirm your current rates in your Shopee Seller Centre and enter them here rather than relying on a fixed figure.
